The new Cessna 208 Caravan ZK-EAV2 (c/n 20800659) was noted yesterday at Timaru on a training flight from Wellington.
This Caravan arrived in Wellington as N874ET on 24-11-2019 after a ferry flight from Eisenhower Airport at Wichita in Kansas with stops at Colorado Springs, Merced, Honolulu, Samoa and Auckland.
It is now registered to Evander Aviation Ltd of Wellington and replaces the Cessna T206H ZK-JWH.
The first ZK-EAV was a NZAI CT4A Airtrainer built for the RAAF in 1975 and which is still currently active on the Australian civil register.
Nice to see a new Caravan in the country, do you know what it will be used for? That is an unusual pod, is it for survey operations?
ReplyDeleteThat'll be the tank for the anti ice fluid that's usually hidden in the cargo pod.
DeleteYes it's the anti-ice fluid tank. Private ops.
ReplyDeleteOK, the ones we flew in Alice Springs didn't have the anti ice option.
