Floatplane over Titahi Bay

While walking on the beach yesterday this Cessna appeared! It must have lifted off from the Porirua inlet as it was still quite low.

Cessna U206G, ZK-MCG c/n: U20603551 of Westland Air Charter Ltd Picton. I have searched the web but have not found a picture of this Cessna fitted with floats. In a post in December last year, Blue Bus commented  "I notice that late in November the Cessna U206G Stationair ZK-MCG was transferred from Cludden Station to Westland Air Charter Ltd of Picton. So (can) I assume that MCG now wears the "boots" ?"

It continued out to sea and then headed down the coast towards wellington,

  1. Is that a rope dangling from the left float?

  2. It looks like it could be! I got two shots and it's in both but shaped differently - like its blowing around

  3. Wouldn't want it to flick up and get caught in the elevators or rudder!
