I had just cause to drop into Christchurch International late this morning.
Just in time to catch the USAF, New York Air Guard, LC130H-LM 83-0491 (c/n 385-5010) departing runway 29 for points South.
In the Heli Maintenance hangar was the Helicopters South Canterbury Ltd's Robinson R44 Raven II ZK-HHZ3 (c/n 10343).
This was a Skysales Aviation (NZ) Ltd import in 2004 for Central Canterbury Helicopters of Ashburton. It moved down to Timaru in December of 2012.
Across the road in the Pacific Aviation hangar were three Guimbal Cabri G2's.
Nearest is c/n 1003, ex PH-WTW (and ZK-HVZ5 pending). To the left is c/n 1024 ZK-ICS (ex ZK-HCS4) with ZK-IZD (c/n 1044) behind.
Watch this spot tomorrow !
Resting in the sunshine was the ATR-GIE ATR 72-212A ZK-MVC (c/n 1084). This has been on line with Mount Cook Airlines since 23-05-2013.
Above we have a Boeing Going - The 3K2 ZK-NGK (c/n 26316) minus vertical tailplane and engines. Check out our brother blog at :- http://mrcaviation.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/another-retirement.html
Three tails !
There was not a great deal of activity at the Aero Club due to the North-westerly zephyrs. However Alpha R2160 ZK-VCF (c/n 160A-07013 and previously ZK-CTV2) returned to the field.
QANTAS Spirit of Australia - "Charles Upham" of Jetconnect Ltd had the Boeing 737-838 ZK-ZQH at hangar No1.
Alas there was no sign of the -7EG N705JM out in the daylight today.
