Visiting Ardmore briefly 10 May was Great Barrier Airlines Embraer 820C (aka Brazilian built PA31-350 Chieftain) ZK-RDT. This aircraft seems to share its time between Auckland and North Shore and compliments the Great Barrier fleet providing a more "long haul" friendly charter platform than perhaps an Islander or Trislander.
The Embraer 820C is a Piper PA31-350 Chieftain assembled under licence in
Brazil, RDT being the only example on the New Zealand register. Maintaining its
previous Brazilian identity of PT-RDT, it was first registered in New Zealand as
ZK-RDT on the 1st of June 1994.
