ZK-LFP the Aeroprakt 22 LS (c/n 237) is the current Life Flight Green example which was registered on 03-07-2015.
Gyrocopters are starting to make their mark - numerically these days.
AuroGyro Cavalon ZK-RDY (c/n V00216) was registered to Aerosport Aviation Ltd of Cambridge on 07-09-2015.
Another Czech Aircraft Works SportCruiser on the field today was ZK-WGK (c/n SC700157) which was first registered back on 11-07-2008 with the I L and R M Manderson Trust of Whakatane.
The Aero Engine Services Ltd (AESL) Airtourer Super 150 ZK-DBD (c/n A551) actually began life as the Victa Airtourer 100 ZK-CGQ (c/n 71).
It was test flown in Australia on 05-08-1964 and sent over to Victa (NZ) Ltd of Auckland, registered ZK-CGQ on 17-09-1964 and delivered to the Auckland Aero Club on 20-11-1964.
It migrated down to the New Plymouth Aero Club but was damaged on 30-11-1969 and was stuck of the register on 04-02-1970.
It was rebuilt by Aero Engine Services Ltd at Hamilton as a Super 150, given the new c/n of A551 and re-registered as ZK-DBD on 25-02-1970 and first flew on the 28th.
It was delivered the same day - on hire - to the Canterbury Aero Club at Christchurch and carried the name 'The Grey Baron'.
On 15-05-1970 the Waikato Aero Club became the listed owner followed by Act Aviation of Te Awamutu from 19-08-1981. Thompson Motors (Te Awamutu) Ltd took it over two months later
It then went to the Wellington Aero Club on hire followed by a private hire at Balclutha before returning to Te Awamutu from 03-10-1986 with A C Thompson. It has been with the Thompson's ever since.
Another recent addition to our civil register is George Richard's Bellanca 17-30A Viking 300 ZK-VIX (c/n 79-30944). This first flew from Parakai on 27-10-2016.
