Ian Gibson Henry
On December 20th, 2016 aged in his 94th year, Ian peacefully passed away.
All who know Ian or fly behind his propellers are very welcome to come say farewell to Ian one last time please.
Ever since seeing Charles Kingsford Smith fly in NZ as a little boy, Ian had an incredible passion for aviation which he generously shared with one and all.
Ian worked with the National Airways Corporation, Airwork and the Canterbury Aero Club as an engineer.
After a visit to Oshkosh Ian specialised in and became a full time Propsmith and a strong Experimental Aircraft Association member and provided great support for New Zealand's Homebuilt, Replica and Microlight industries.
He made over 1,100 props for a wide range of aircraft and for hundreds of free flight models during his time as a long term core member of the Christchurch Model Aero Club.
If anyone in Christchurch or surrounds is free this Saturday afternoon the family would love to see you at the service.
