Greener pastures awaiting

Parked on the western grass at Christchurch International are these two aircraft.
Above is the Taylorcraft 20 Ranchwagon ZK-BQM c/n 20-014. It had been living in the Air New Zealand Sport and Social Club (Southern) hangar until the hangar was removed for the construction of the new apprentice training school hangar and classrooms. Since then it has been parked in the open and is deteriorating.
This is the last surviving of the three imported into NZ in 1956 so is probably worthy of saving.
Above we have the Piper PA-28-140D Cherokee ZK-DEH c/n 28-7125556. Imported and listed to Airwork (NZ) Ltd on 01-11-1971 it first flew here on 09-11-1971 before being listed to the Northland Districts Aero Club at Whangarei on 07-12-1971.
It went into private ownership on 20-10-1980 with M G Nicholas out of Te Kuiti and then to G C Prowse of Auckland from 24-07-1987.
Allan Barr of Timaru purchased it from 11-01-1989, to replace his Cessna 150 ZK-BWI, and sold it in October of 1995 to Eddie Gifkins of Rakaia. I haven't seen it move for at least two years.
