Tiger Moths at Pacific Aero Coatings, Tauranga

While poking around hangars at Tauranga I came across a couple of Tiger Moths coming together in Pacific Aero Coatings' hangar.

This is ZK-BAL of the Darton Feild Flying Syndicate of Gisborne.

This interesting new Tiger Moth on the New Zealand scene is ex A17-58 of the RAAF training establishment at RAAF Temworth, and it is being painted up in the scheme it wore there in early WW 2. It is for sale. Pacific Aero Coatings director Kim Thompson told me it has not flown since 1940!

  1. This Tiger is not A17-58.
A17-58 is VH-PCG and is located at Byron Bay, NSW. She has never been to New Zealand. I would be interested in knowing where you get your facts from.
