Cessna 180A Skywagon c/n 32811 was a product of the year 1957 and was given the factory test registration of N9514B followed by the often used N11B marks prior to export.
It went down to Australia to become VH-RED with Connellan Airways Ltd of Alice Springs on 24-04-1957.
In November the following year they re-registered it into the VH-CL* Connellan registration block as VH-CLD.
On 12-07-1967 they re-registered it again - this time as VH-UPG2 and then sold it on to Northern Transport at Alice on 31-10-1967.
Below we see a pic of her as such during the 1970's from M Wheatley.
Some eight owners later it went to W M Wheatley at Springland in NSW on 28-05-1988.
Unfortunately only a few days later - 11-06-1988 - it was damaged at Lightning Ridge, NSW.
After a period of storage it was reworked and flown across from Australia via Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands to reach Auckland on 30-09-1995.
It entered the NZ register as ZK-OWZ on 16-10-1995 for Ski Hi Tandem Skydive Ltd at Paihia.
After a few days off the register in April of 2005 it moved to Taupo - still with Ski Hi Tandem Skydive from 22-04-200, only to be sold from 02-08-2005 to Aemonnd and Heleen Johnston of Johnston Motors Haast.
It is seen below at Christchurch on
On 22-09-2006 it was re-registered using the Johnston Motors Haast initials to become ZK-JMH.
Cessna 185 has kindly sent in the pic below of ZK-JMH taken at Wellington this morning in a new colour scheme (perhaps a follow on from its SIDS inspection).
