Alpi Aviation Pioneer 300s of New Zealand (5)

Around 2014 Alpi Aviation produced a version of the Alpi 300 with a fixed undercarriage as the Alpi 300 Kite.  This leads to less complexity, but the cruise speed is reduced to 220 km/hr (from the 250 km/hr of the retractable aircraft).  The fuel capacity has been increased to 71 litres and the MAUW has been increased to 560Kg.

We have had three Alpi 300 Kite's in New Zealand to date:

ZK-LPK (c/n 5014) was registered to Alpi Aviation NZ Ltd of Rangiora on 24/2/15.  It is photo'd above at the Alpi Aviation NZ base at Fernside Field soon after its registration, on 14/3/15.  On 4/5/15 it was sold to the Fiordland Aero Club of Te Anau.

ZK-LPC (c/n 5017) was registered to Alpi Aviation NZ Ltd on 15/1/16, and is photo'd above at Rangitata Island on 24/4/16.  It is fitted with a fuel injected Rotax 912iS engine and is currently for sale.

ZK-LPL (c/n 5018) was also registered to Alpi Aviation NZ Ltd on 15/1/16, and is photo'd above at Rangitata Island on 24/4/16 where several Alpis were in attendance.  It is fitted with a Rotax 912ULS engine and is also currently for sale (see the Alpi Aviation NZ website at: http://www.alpiaviation.co.nz/ ),

I think we will see more Alpis in New Zealand in the future as they are still being manufactured by Alpi Aviation in Italy,  The company also manufacture a range of other models that we have not seen yet in New Zealand including the 230, 330 and the four seat 400.
