A chance to visit North Shore airfield on a sunny today was a no-brainer, and a surprising selection of interesting aircraft were on display.
Locally owned Piper PA 22 150 Pacer ZK-EKB was pushed out of its hangar for a local flight following several months covered up inside its hangar.
Auster J1N was tied down outside one of Smith Tech Air's hangars. It is owned by the Auster ATS Syndicate of Kamo, a suburb of Whangarei. I reckon there must be a story behind this aircraft for Blue Bus to tell.
North Shore Aero Club is refurbishing their Robin 2120 fleet, with ZK-TZL the first to appear in their new colour scheme.
Another local, the smart looking Cessna 182T ZK-PJC returned to the field, for a de-bugging in the sun. It is resident in the most recent hangar to be built at North Shore.
And finally the Ralph Schultz Helicopters' Hughes 500E ZK-INO was in a more photogenic position for a photo than when last posted by Mike Condon. This machine is based at Maungatoroto.
Also on the helicopter front, Composite Helicopters' new Adventourer ZK-HOL was having its new composite rotor blades fitted in their hangar.
