When I was last at Ardmore, a couple of weeks ago, I came across S.N.C.A.N Stampe SV 4A ZK-BBV2 (c/n 199) in Rob Mackley's hangar. I had not seen this classic aircraft previously so it was good to have a look at it.
The registration as the second ZK-BBV comes from its previous French registration of F-BBVM, which it had worn since 12/11/46. It was imported into New Zealand by Lars Fehlman and first registered here on 22/7/11.
Sadly, Lars Fellman died recently and his aircraft have been advertised for sale. The Stampe is advertised for sale in the latest Classic Wings magazine.
You can see a full rundown of ZK-BBV2's interesting history in an earlier post at http://nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2015/05/stampe-sv4a-zk-bbv.html

A non-Stampe question: is the wooden-walled area in the background of photo 1 where the Electra is being worked on?
ReplyDeleteHi Handbag. The Electra is being worked on at the rear of the hangar, and it is coming together really well. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it! One very, very exciting project I'm always keen to hear about. Thank you.
