Another three years and this time another nine S 6s as detailed below:
ZK-XAS, an S 6S model, was built by Corran G Munro of Dunedin with the help of Craig Miller of Custom Aviation Ltd. It was registered on 14/10/09 and first flew on 23/11/09. It is photo'd above at Rangiora on 3/1/11.
Another Dunedin S 6S, ZK-ZMB was built by Albert L Bagnall, also with help by Craig Miller. It is named "Mary B". It was registered on 15/10/09 and first flew on 18/11/09. It is photo'd above at Russel Brodie's Rangitata Island airstrip on 18/3/12. On 25/11/12 at was sold the the ZMB Syndicate of Dunedin.
S 6S ZK-MOO was built by Mick O'Keefe of Geraldine for Simon R Johnson of Temuka, and it was registered to Simon Johnson on 28/10/09. It looks identical to Mick O'Keefe's ZK-MOL. It is photo'd above at Rangitata Island on 26/11/11.
S 6ES ZK-MSS was started at Balclutha but was finished by Craig Miller. It was registered to John S Sinclair of Balclutha on 12/11/09. Thanks to John Sinclair for this nice photo of ZK-MSS on an Otago beach, taken on 10/4/11.
ZK-ABE was an S 6ES tri-gear model that was built by members of the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club, and it was first registered to them on 13/1/11. It is photo'd above at the 2011 RAANZ flyin at Masterton on 12/3/11. On 16/7/13 it was sold to the Hawkes Bay and East Coast Aero Club.
The HB and EC Aero Club re-registered the aircraft ZK-KIX on 8/10/13. It suffered a turn over accident on landing at Bridge Pa on 15/2/14 but was repaired as can be seen in the above photo (taken by Aero Club instructor Esther Harrington), in a hangar at Hastings on 24/6/14. Thanks to Esther for the photo.
S 6S ZK-WTE was registered to the Waimate Aero Club on 13/1/11, and it was built by a team from the aero club including Ray Eden and Mark Rollinson. It is photo'd above at Ashburton on 5/12/11.
Craig Miller of Custom Aviation Ltd at Taieri built S 6ES ZK-COJ for the Gore Aero Club, and it was first registered on 16/3/11. Craig and Custom Aviation are now also RANS agents, and he has built several S 6s for customers. ZK-COJ first flew on 9/4/11 and the above photo was taken on 12/4/11.
S 6S ZK-CDC was built at by Chuck Berry and Dom Eller and was registered to the S 6 Cartel of Queenstown on 1/4/11. It first flew on 18/5/11 at Wanaka. It has a Rotax 912 engine (as many of the modern S 6Ss have), and is built for back country flying, including having fittings for attaching floats. It is photo'd above at Pukaki on 22/9/12.
S 6ES ZK-LVE was built as a retirement project by Les Eade of Cheviot (he also has VP 1 ZK-VPI). It has a Rotax 582 engine and it was first registered on 23/11/11. It is photo'd above at the 2013 SAANZ flyin at Ashburton. Les also flew ZK-LVE to the 2014 SAANZ flyin at Hastings where he won the Cook Srait Challenge trophy for overcoming the greatest challenge in crossing the Strait to attend the flyin. It was Les's first time to cross Cook Strait in an aircraft he built himself.
