Now we know why the Piper Cub ZK-BOY remained at Omaka following the Omaka Air Show at Easter. It remained there to enable the Marlborough Aero Club instructor Travers Tennant to complete the training of young Jack Griffith up to first solo stage. This glad event happened on his 16th birthday on Friday the 12-04-2013.
In the week prior to his first solo he shot his first stag in south Westland. Pic below shows ZK-BOY on the river bed during that occasion.
