The Zenith CH-300 Tri-Z ZK-MJB (c/n AACA/297) was built by Murray J Bensemann at Nelson and first registered there (using his initials) on 16-12-1982. It was sold in late 1986 to Peter Chrystal of Onga Onga and on sold in early 1997. It failed to get airborne from Ngakuru (SW of NZRO) on 20-06-1998 - Ice on its wing - and became an insurance right off. It eventually made its was back to the original builder - M J Bensemann and Roger W Price of Takaka. It was rebuilt and registered back with M Bensemann on 01-10-2007 of Ashburton; then of Nelson from 06-07-2009, and finally of Takaka on 07-09-2011.
