Homegrown Single Seat Homebuilt Aircraft of New Zealand (9) - Jones PJ 1

A very recent homegrown single seat homebuilt aircraft to be registered is the Jones PJ 1 which has been built by Peter Jones of Tauranga.  Peter told me that it is based on a 1950's Indian aircraft called a Monsoon, but I could not find any reference to that aircraft.  It is a Class 1 microlight and is powered by a Rotax 503 engine.

ZK-PJI (c/n 0001) was registered to Peter Jones on 27/4/12, and Peter advises that it will be test flying around September 2012.

Thanks very much to Peter Jones for the photo which was taken at Tauranga.
