Sikorsky S-76B ZK-IBI

Sikorsky S-76B ZK-IBI2 c/n 760447 started its career in Japan as JA6766 in March of 1996 with the Kagawa Prefecture Police until being cancelled as withdrawn from use from 29 November 2017.

Photo below shows JA6766 at work on 22 May 2016 at Akeno from the Shimizu Brothers.

Oceania Aviation Ltd handled its NZ certification and it became ZK-IBI2 with them on 18 February 2019 and was transferred to C G Aviation Ltd of Papakura on 5 December 2019.

Aaron Murphy caught it arriving at Rangiora yesterday (18-12-2021)

And I captured it at rest and departing.

  1. This explains the S76 that flew past our place in Whanganui yesterday - there was no rego on Flightradar24 and I assumed it was a NEST machine. Very nice!

  2. Looks like it started off the day yesterday from Lillybank Station up near the head of Lake Tekapo in the Mackenzie country.
