North Shore today was busy with lots of helicopter movements, mainly Hughes 300 and R 22 training flights. But these two were a bit different.
In for maintenance was a helicopter a long way from home - Ruggs Holdings Ltd's Hughes 369FF ZK-HUJ2 all the way from Greymouth. The turbine was being run up and as I took the photo I thought how fast the rotor blades were going. However I now see that it did not have rotor blades!
Northland Emergency Services Trust's Sikorsky S 76A ZK-IAL arrived, now in new colours.
This helo is normally hangared at North Shore.
After refuelling it headed back to its hangar.

Why would the Northland Emergency Services Trust's Helo be hangared at North Shore, when they are based in Whangarei?
