The taildragger version of the P 92 was introduced at Sun N Fun 2012 with Tecnam claiming it was the first new taildragger aircraft available to the General Aviation community in "quite a while". It can be registered as a Light Sport Aircraft or a microlight and can also be powered by a Lycoming YO233 engine of 115 HP as well as the usual Rotaxes.
We have only had one P 92 taildragger registered in New Zealand to date:
ZK-TBJ (c/n 1591) was registered to Aircraft and Marine Ltd of Gore on 10/5/19 and then it went briefly to Waiatoto River Safaris, south of Haast on 27/9/19. Ownership changed to Southern Cross Contracting Ltd on 12/2/20. It is photo'd above at Feilding on 9/6/19 when it was on a country wide demonstration tour. That is it for our various models of Tecnam P 92s to date, covering the period from 1998 to 2021, and in total we have had 34 P 92 aircraft registered. This includes our first P 92 Echo Mark II which was registered ZK-RJR in June 2021 but is not due in Tauranga until late September.
Next I will go on to cover our P 96 Golfs...
