The Annual Labour Weekend Rans Flyin at Russell Brodie's Rangitata Island airfield is under way.
I suspect the forcasted weather has kept some aviators way, but ground conditions where not too bad. A reasonably strong northwesterly aloft and some turbulence after take off from the row of trees alongside vector 30 did not deter those on site.
The olde familiar and ever faithful Cessna 180A ZK-BUQ (c/n 32995) of Skidiving Kiwis was active all day dropping its meat bombs.
Two of the day visitors were - Above - the Jodel D.18 ZK-EDG (c/n AACA/17/2) with Tony Den Haan departing back towards Cust.
Below is Roydon Hurley about to depart back towards Woodbury in his Rans S-6S Coyote 11 ZK-PWP (c/n 020818630).
Locally based is the Rans S-6ES Coyote 11 ZK-RHZ (c/n 08031519) of East Canterbury Aviation.
Above, with "The Moth Manor" in the background; is the Rans S-6ES Coyote 11 ZK-XAC (c/n 09091922) with Allan Cowan about to return to Timaru.
