Water Landings on the Mahurangi

Another fabulous day for flying in the North so I took off from Kaipara Flats airfield to check that my newly refurbished spark plugs were performing as they should (they were).  While approaching the Mahurangi Rivermouth I spied Searey ZK-SWM down below doing some water landings.

I was at 1,000 feet and he called that he was operating below 500 feet so I stooged around for a bit and watched and took some pretty long shots.

What a great area to fly over!
