An interesting overnight visitor to Pauanui was Heli Sika's Taupo based Piper Malibu ZK-ORZ which was imported from Australia in 2017. It now carries script identifying it has been upgraded to a "Malibu M-5", a conversion originating from Minneapolis based Malibu Aerospace Inc. The main changes are the fitting of a more powerful TCM TS10 550C engine and a Hartzell 3 bladed prop.
