The Northern Aviators Club held their 2020 edition of the Poker Run today, with numbers down a bit due to the somewhat challenging weather. The start was at Dargaville following the famous every Saturday lunch, the the five contestants flew to airfields at Ruawai, Kaipara Flats and Parakai before finishing off for afternoon tea at Paul Hopper's hangar at North Shore airfield, picking up sealed cards at each airfield.
I was at Kaipara Flats this morning doing a bit of work on my D9 as Paul Hopper and Brian Millett arrived to put out the sealed poker cards:
Then it was off to Dargaville in Paul's Cessna 177B Cardinal ZK-DNX.
Followed by locals Brien O'Brien in his Fly Synthesis Texan ZK-TXN2
And Martin Farrand in his Cherokee 180 ZK-CUC "Chuc Wunda".
