Tony McFarlin was at Nelson Airport on November 25th and potted a couple of helicopters that have not had a lot of coverage previously.
The MBB BO 105 DBS4 ZK-IAA2 c/n S-814 was first noted as D-HDZX with MBB GmbH of Munich on 23-10-1989 and was placed with the Police Aviation Services Ltd at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton from 20-11-1989 as G-PASX. It was sold off and re-registered as G-SIVK to C J Siva-Jothy of Inverness from 08-11-2010 and then to Eastern Atlantic Helicopters Ltd of Staverton from 09-06-2015.
It joined the NZ register as ZK-IAA2 on 29-08-1018 with the AMH Trust of Nelson on 29-08-1018.
ZK-HQY4 is a Robinson Raven II with the c/n of 10679 and came in through Skysales Aviation (NZ) Ltd of Christchurch being listed on 27-04-2005. From 19-05-2006 it went briefly to the Kapiti Districts Aero Club (Inc) at Paraparaumu and then on to its current operator Rimutaka Heli-Services Ltd from 04-10-2006.

Tucked away at the Nelson Founders Heritage Park is the Bristol B170 Freighter ZK-CLU c/n 13156
This was a late 1953 machine built for the Pakistan Air Force as S4403.
This arrived in NZ on 01-06-1966 to join S.A.F.E Ltd of Woodbourne as ZK-CLU from 01-07-1966, becoming Safe Air Ltd from 31-10-1967.
Named Merchant Buccaneer it was withdrawn from use on 30-09-1986 with over 21,300 hours.
It was delivered to the Founders Heritage Park in November 1986.
