This post is scheduled for 11.00am on 11/11/18 - 100 years since the signing of the Armistice that ended World War 1 (although the original 11.00am was Paris time).
The great photo from James Fahey captures a scene that could have been from 100 years ago, as DH 4s of the 50th Aero Squadron of the American Expeditionary Force only arrived in France in May 1918. However the Fokker Dr 1 Triplane had been superceded by then - maybe some were still lurking around!

According to popular fallacy, all German fighter pilots flew the Triplane, just as some years later all British fighter pilots flew Spitfires!
