Wanaka # 16

Foreign registered civil aircraft at Wanaka
The lovely Beech D18S N43927 (c/n A-26) parked alongside the main highway.
For an earlier post check out  sweet-as

Above we have the bare essentials of the Beech 17 VH-AFP (c/n 357).
This one has an interesting past life having served on the US Antarctic Service Expedition during 1940 to 1942 as NC20778.
It later went to Australia and ended its career as an ag aircraft.

It is now under full restoration back to its Beech D17A standard at Twenty 24 Ltd at Wanaka.

Above is the Beech 17 VH-UXP c/n 108 and below a poster detailing some of its history.
More posts can be seen HERE  and  here

Above we have the Hispano HA-112 M1L Buchon G-BWUE - a Spanish built Messerschmidt 109 powered with a Rolls Royce Merlin 500.
