Some blog readers may be struggling to locate where Maungakaramea is. Well, it is not far South of Whangarei. And if you take Maungakaramea Road off SH 1 and drive along for a bit there is a small hangar and a shed that together house seven trikes of various models. The hangar links to a 300 metre airstrip that the trikes operate off.
Here are the P & M Aviation Quik GT 450 ZK-MAZ2, the Airborne Windsports Edge XT582L ZK-XHA and the Airborne Windsports Edge X582 ZK-XAA. Also in the hangar is the P & M Aviation Quik R ZK-NDS and in the adjacent shed are the Airborne Windsports Edge X582 ZK-SJR and two other trikes. Thanks for the photo Erwin.
I went flying with these guys in 2011, and would love to do it again but they don't seem to have a social media presence. Does anyone have contact information for the gentlemen running these trikes?
