It was a fabulous evening for a local flight tonight. I took off from Kaipara Flats airfield at 6.50 pm for a half hour flight. I just stayed local but climbed to 3500 feet from where you can see both coasts clearly as well as Whangarei Heads in the North and Rangitoto Island to the South.
