Two shot taken at Rangiora on Saturday the 30th June in odd winter light.
The Maule M-5-235C Lunar Rocket ZK-MSM c/n 7175C).
Built as N6156M it went new to Australia and became VH-MSM on 21-07-1978 with K Y Smith/Lunar Aviation of Bacchus Marsh, Victoria - and five owners later was with H J Hyder of Busselton, West Australia from February 1989.
It ferried into Auckland via Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands on 06-01-1994 and became ZK-MSM on 28-01-1994 with Andrew Preston of Galloway Station, Alexandra.
Andrew moved on to Robinson R22 and later R44 helicopters and sold the Maule to J B and C A Brunskill of Tauranga from April of 2003.
It was listed to Don Leach of Amberley from 08-03-2018 to replace his recently sold Cessna 172K ZK-DEP.
Above we have the Canterbury Aero Club (Inc's) Alpha R2160 ZK-VCE (c/n 160A-07010) wearing what looks like the rudder from ZK-RBN !
