The Sport Aviation Association of New Zealand (Auckland Branch) held their Christmas BBQ at North Shore back on the 2nd of December but due to moving matters and general busyness I did not post about it at the time. However I now rectify this omission with the following:
Steve Gwilliam flew his Jodel D 11 ZK-RSB down from Whangarei. Steve told me that he regularly checks out the blog. Great to meet you Steve.
and coming from a different point of the compass, Chapter Newsletter Editor Gavin Magill flew over from Whitianga in his Zenith CH 601 XL ZK-ZXZ.
Dennis Horne and Manfred Scherbius flew up from Ardmore in Dennis's Jabiru J200 ZK-ORN. They are regular attendees at flyins and I saw them the week previously at Dargaville for lunch.
I probably wouldn't usually photograph a Piper Tomahawk, but ZK-EVD2 looked so nice in this great photo spot outside Julian Coles' new hangar.
Evan Wheeler flew in from Patumahoe in his Murphy Rebel ZK-WEM.
