A flying stop over at Ashburton last Thursday revealed the two Vincent Family Austers
Above is Auster 5C ZK-AZF (c/n 1272) nearing the end of its rebuild - That is young Andrew working on the elevator trim tab. It has been fitted with the engine from ZK-BCK.
Below is the Auster J5F Aiglet Trainer ZK-BCK (c/n 3106) in need of some attention.
In fact it may well be heading to a new home in Blenheim !
Above - also at Ashburton was the Cessna 180 ZK-BJY (c/n 31421) of Brian Doig of Chertsey.
Below - In the AVTEK hangar at Timaru was the Cessna 185A ZK-CMS (c/n 1850482) of Cascade Whitebaiters Ltd.
Now a Timaru local is the Farmers Air Ltd PAC Cresco ZK-LTG (c/n 004).
In the background is the Company taxi Beechcraft A36 Bonanza ZK-UTE2 (c/n E-515) used for commuting back and forth from Gisborne.
There is a lot of NZ aeronautical history tied up between these aircraft and worthy of separate blog posts sometime - although ZK-CMS has been mentioned before at :-
