Grumman Widgeon ZK-CFA at Kaitaia on 5-11-2022

Following on from my previous post from Kaitaia where I noted that the newly restored Grumman Widgeon ZK-CFA had flown in for a visit, several other Northern Aviators Club members have sent me photos:

Taxying in

When it was parked up it attracted a crowd!

It has "Living the Dream" painted on the nose.

And a Grumman Super Widgeon logo on the tail.

We don't need to post the history of this interesting aircraft as it is displayed on a panel in the cabin (click to enlarge to read easier for those who are optically challenged!)

Owner Grant Harnish says that his newly restored Widgeon will not be going back into seawater.

  4. Great preservation and a lovely story. I travelled in this aircraft quite often in the days of Freddie Ladd and have just come across a picture of it at Te Hapua, temporarily on the rocks, while carrying my parents (my father then being Governor General) and me (then aged 10).
