My final aircraft visit of our South Island trip was to Taieri on Thursday 28 October. The weather certainly wasn't conducive to flying but Joe Calder of the Otago Aero Club was there and he happily opened up their hangar for photographs. Here are a couple of the aero club planes:
Vans RV 12 ZK-LME (c/n 12-356) was re-registered as such on 27/2/23 and is still on line with the club.If you think it looks familiar you are correct, because the aircraft was previously ZK-OAC3 with the aero club from 29/9/16...
And it started off as ZK-RVS2 having been built by Malcolm Belcher at Hastings and first registered to him on 7/12/11.
The reason why the RV 12 was re-registered was to allow the Otago Aero Club to re-register their Tecnam P2008 (c/n 194) as ZK-OAC4. This occurred on 6/3/23. Joe told me that the P 2008 has been a great success for the club.
