Flying Tiger ??

I have noticed this on two aircraft in the last couple of years, a Harvard & Cessna 172.
Can anybody advise the significance please ?

    This is the emblem of the Old Flying Machine Company, based in Duxford, UK.

    It was (is) also on the Hanger Ray built at Wanaka and on the Stearman he had, it also featured on a flag that he used to fly over his home.
