Air New Zealand Auckland - Wellington - Auckland

We flew down to Wellington last week on Air New Zealand and I found it quite sobering to see how empty the Auckland domestic terminal was on a weekday afternoon.  However passengers arrived out of somewhere and our flight was pretty full.

A similar thing yesterday afternoon at Wellington.  We got to our lounge gate about 45 minutes before our flight with a nice view towards the South and not one aircraft landed in the time before we boarded.

Of the few Air New Zealand aircraft on the ramp, the ATR 72 ZK-MZE is the latest aircraft to be delivered to the airline and who knows when the next delivery will be.

And in the latest Kia Ora magazine the airline has (understandably) removed the numbers in the fleet for each of their aircraft types.  Oh how things have changed in a year!
