The Dargaville Aero Club's new Rotax 912-powered Fly Synthesis Storch S ZK-DAQ2 (c/n FIBC4980D2DD, officially registered on 16.4.2014) came on line this week following CAA approval and the mandatory two hours of test flying conducted on 19 April.

The first allocation of these ZK-DAQ letters were to a Cessna 337C Super Skymaster, c/n 337C-0795. This came from Australia where it had been registered as VH-EGT with Rex Aviation Pty. It arrived in Auckland on 23-04-1970 and became ZK-DAQ for Rex Aviation (NZ) Ltd at Ardmore on 30-11-1970.
It is seen above at Wellington on 05-07-1971.
It spent a few months on line with the Rex Flying School before joining the Taupo Flying School and Air Services on 26-07-1971.
Above it was at Taupo on 26-09-1972.
It was destroyed in a hangar fire at Rotorua on 31-03-1981, along with the Pask Air Service Piper PA-36 Brave ZK-EIH, the Piper Cub ZK-BYW from Te Kumi Station, and the John Galpin Tiger Moth ZK-BFG.
