Wanaka odds.

This will be my final batch of pics from Wanaka's last weekend air-show.
Above we see the Brett Emeny De Havilland DH115 Vampire T55 ZK-RVM (c/n 985) being readied for another mission. It served with the Swiss Air Force from 1958 until joining the Swiss civil register as HB-RVM on 30-06-1992. Its Swiss registration was cancelled in September of 1996 and it became ZK-RVM on 26-08-1997 and is painted to represent NZ5712.
Cessna T210R Turbo Centurion ZK-TRO3 (c/n 64918) flew into Hamilton from Honolulu and Pago Pago on 03-07-1996 and became ZK-TRC2 with TRC Toyota of Feilding on 19-07-1996.
It was re-registered to ZK-TRO3 on 26-03-2003 to free up the ZK-TRC registration for TRC Toyota's newly imported Cessna 421C Golden Eagle.
This Cessna 210 was re-listed to B B Aviation of Feilding who also had the Cessna 195 ZK-BEB2 at Wanaka (on static display).
Queenstown Based North American NA78 Harvard 3* ZK-XSA (c/n 78-6647). It came to NZ in 1996 and still wears its South Africa military markings.
These last two shots show the Avro 652A Anson Mk1 ZK-RRA arriving and departing from Rangiora on 21-04-2014.

  2. Cessna 421 ZK-TRC was ZK-DCN that had been in NZ for sometime.

  3. The owner was roumoured to have picked "TRO" because all that had to happen was the "C" in the old rego be painted a little bit to close it into a "O". The 421C left NZ last year for aussie as VH-VPY

  4. I believe ZK-XSA is an AT-6A rather than a Harvard. It is one of a batch of Texans supplied in the early-1950s direct from the USA, so isn't technically a Harvard.

    Signed, Mr P E Dant.

  5. I won't disagree with you on that one Roy.
Just that the Powers That Be have it listed as a North American Harvard 3* - and who am I to disagree with Them.

    Cheers
