Spotted at Ardmore 15 April was this recently imported Aerospatiale AS350BA Squirrel ZK-IJG s/n 1558. It was registered to Consolidated Helicopters of Hastings on 26 March this year.
This airframe already has a NZ connection as it once flew with Helicopters NZ as ZK-HBU in 1988. It flew a stint in Antarctica and also on survey work at the other climatic extremes of Burma before moving to the operator's Australian operation when it became VH-WCJ in 2001. It returned to the parent company as ZK-HUQ in 2009 only to head west again and became VH-INW with Gunn Resources PTY from July 2011.
