Air Ambulances at Wellington

There were three air ambulance movements in the couple of hours I was at Wellington International Airport on 23/4/15.

Piper PA 31P-350 pressurised Mojave ZK-WTH of Air Wanganui Commuter Ltd arrived with a patient.  This aircraft is ex N9187Y/ C-GRCW/ N789WA and HB-GJF and came to New Zealand for Wanganui Aero Work being registered on 3/6/87.  Ownership transferred to Air Wanganui Commuter Ltd on 15/6/89.  The Mojave is essentially a Piper Cheyenne fuselage with normally aspirated engines and has a Navajo Chieftan tail and extended and strengthened Navajo Chieften wings.

Beech C 90 Kingair ZK-ZZA of Skyline Aviation also arrived with a patient.  This aircraft is ex N90NZ and was imported into New Zealand by Izard Pacific Aviation Ltd of Taupo, being first registered on 17//6/11.  On 10/7/12 ownership transferred to Skyline Aviation Ltd of Napier and it is now part of their fleet of air ambulances.

Then the bandaged BA Jetstream 3202 ZK-LFW operated by Life Flight Wellington took off for points unknown.  This aircraft is ex VH-OTR and was bought to New Zealand by Vincent Aviation and was first registered here on 21/5/12 to Vincent Aviation Ltd (in Receivership).  With the demise of Vincent Aviation ownership transferred to Air Freight of Auckland on 17/10/14 but with a much later effective date of 9/3/15.  Comparason with earlier photos of ZK-LFW shows that it now has different script although it still has the safety pin!.  See www.nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2012/06/black-and-white.html
