Drury Yesterday 8-1-2024

As well as the Tiger Moth ZK-ASV there was quite a bit going on during our brief visit to Drury yesterday:

There were 3 towplanes on the field.  Here the Auckland Gliding Club's 4 bladed Piper Pawnee ZK-CEB gets airborne towing the club's PZL Swidnik PW-6U ZK-GXY
And here the Champion 7GCBC ZK-CRT starts another aerotow with the Tauranga Gliding Club's Pawnee ZK-PNE "Myrtle" in the foreground.

ZK-CRT has been registered to the Avgas Airbubble Syndicate of Papakura since 13/8/21.

A couple of gliders waiting for an aerotow with Schleicher ASW 20 BL ZK-GBL2 first in line.

With the Schemp Hirth Discus A ZK-GYO (c/n 138) to follow.  The R2 on the tail is from a previous life.

Russell Thorne arrived back on the airfield in his ASW 27-18E (marked as an ASG 29) ZK-GRT following an aerotow but not finding lift.  This turned out to be quite fortuitous for me....
