On our return flight from Dargaville to Parakai last Saturday in Harvey Lockie's Dyn Aero MCR 01 Club ZK-WIK, our route took us over Gibbs Farm beside the Kaipara Harbour.
Alan Gibbs is a prominent New Zealand businessman who has also developed various types of aquatic cars. He is also an art collector and Gibbs Farm is the largest collection of large outdoor sculptures in New Zealand. It looks interesting from the air and is also a good navigation point in the area because it is so unique.
Below are a few of the sculptures that I photo'd as we flew over (both on our way North and South):
