Seventy three years apart.

Two photographs of the De Havilland DH60G Gipsy Moth ZK-ADT c/n 1101
The above photo comes from Caribou's dad via CMM and was shot at Palmerston North in 1945.
I am wondering if that is some script on the cowling ?
I know it carried the name 'Huia' at one point - but that was lower on the cowl.
Above at Omaka seventy  three years later on 17-02-2014 with Jerry Chisum doing a refuel.

  1. It could be the name of the aircraft Dave. From 1942 it was named 'Huia' by Union Airways. From 1947 when it was bought by Arthur Baker of Cambridge, the name was changed to 'Any Damn Thing' (ADT)!!

  2. Dang. I didn't know that.
So what you are also saying is that the photo was 1947 onwards !
    Cheers
