Another photo from Allister Jenks - this time taken at Rotorua on 02-12-2023 - shows the De Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter ZK-VAS c/n 35.
This aircraft is older than many of us - having a date of manufacture of 22-01-1954.
Built for the Royal Canadian Air Force with the serial of 3677 it was taken on charge on 31-03-1954.
It spent time in Egypt with United Nation duties from 1957 through to October 1966.
Withdrawn from use in 1977 it became C-GOFA, moving on to N511BW from 26-06-1986.
Back in Canada again it became C-FXGA3 from 27-06-2002.
This was cancelled on 24-06-2002 for its move to NZ.
It became ZK-VAS on 16-11-2004 with Volcanic Air Safaris Ltd at Rotorua.
