Anson and Harvard at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2024

With a lot of attention focusing on the Mosquito, the "new" Mustang and the Corsair, some of the other warbirds in attendance may have been a bit overshadowed.

But they really shouldn't have been.  In this photo from Brian Greenwood we see Bevan Dewes' immaculate ex RNZAF North American Harvard 2A ZK-OTU/NZ1044 and Bill Read's equally immaculate Avro Anson Mk 1 ZK-RRA/K6183.  Bevan's Harvard was attending its first Warbirds Over Wanaka while the Anson could be attending its last...

In keeping with its very authentic restoration Bevan's Harvard is fitted with machine guns which he fired using blanks at the airshow.
