Below, looking north.
Good one Anonymous Barry.
Robbie 22 Beta ZK-HWJ2 , c/n 0531 , came to NZ after a stint in Japan and the Philippines; joining our register on 25-08-1999 for Nationwide Helicopters of Auckland. Seven months later it was listed to Andrew Ramsden at Wanaka.
Lake LA-4-200 Bucaneer ZK-EDK , c/n 469 ,was imported from the USA and assembled at Airwork Christchurch in November of 1974 for registration on 09-12-1974 to Rural Management Ltd and delivered to Float Air Ltd of Picton the same month.
Chemical Technology Ltd of Christchurch became the listed owners on 30-10-1981 and I recall it sitting for yonks out on the Simon Spencer-Bower airfield in a very tired state.

Photo shows the PZL-Swidnik PW-6U ZK-GPW2 c/n 78-02-07 , of the Taupo Gliding Club at Centenial Park, Taupo on 13-04-2002.
Bell 212 ZK-HNO c/n 212-31139 , seems to have been around since Adam was a cowboy. In fact it came onto the register on 09-10-1980 with Helicopters (NZ) Ltd of Nelson.
These first three pictures taken at Timaru on 07-06-1984. Note the tall fin above the cabin and the floatation gear.
It was noted cocooned for transport at Ardmore in mid September and has been exported to Canada, being cancelled from our register on 22-09-2009.
Above pic shows ZK-CUA in its factory red & white colour scheme , at the old Canterbury Aero Club hardstand on 13-10-1968, about where part of the car park is these days, with the Operation Deep Freeze hangar and a couple Hercules behind.
Bruce Evans, Alastair (sp?) and Chris Bell acquired it in February of 1979 and it was later leased back to the Canterbury Aero Club where Chris was the CEO.
With the relatively recent arrival of the new glass cockpit Archer and Warrior's it became surplus to Club requirements so was listed with Airfarm Partnership (the Bells) on 17-03-2009.
In their generosity the aircraft has been released to the Ashburton Aviation Museum - providing it does not fly again. The aircraft was flown to Ashburton in April and flew for the last time on 08-08-09. To help cover costs most useful lifed items have been exchanged with time expired items with the Club. Also the Club has offered to have the aircraft repainted in its original red and white Club colours and this process has already started with the aircraft being worked on at Ashburton. See pic below. I believe it has only about 17,000 flying hours, not a great deal for a 42 year old Cherokee.
Pic below taken at Ashburton on 07-10-2009.
The first Piper PA-28 Cherokee flew on 10-10-1960 and to celebrate fifty years of these slab wings the Ashburton Aviation Museum is holding a Cherokee weekend over January 14-17-2010.
Anybody welcome - you don't have to be a Cherokee. Interested then contact aeromedia@xtra.co.nz
Morane Saulnier MS880B Rally ZK-CBU , c/n 5199 , was one of a batch imported by the agents Seabrook Fowlds of Auckland.
Top pic shows it at Wellington in August of 1963; and the above shot was at Palmerston North on 1st May 1966.
