Rangiora this day 06-10-2009

Cessna 152 ZK-NSD , c/n 83209 , from Mainland Air Services of Dunedin holding off to reach the displaced threshold on "25" at Rangiora this afternoon.
A shot in the dark got this view of the recently arrived Rand Kar XAir ZK-JOX , c/n 543 , in the back of a hangar at NZRT. First registered on 05-03-2002 to Graham Mitchell of Timaru. I note that his address is now in Rangiora.
An old familiar Robinson R22 Beta, but in a different identity. Previously shown on this blog as ZK-HEH3 with Amuri Helicopter. It was re-registered as ZK-IWK2 on 04-09-2008 and now has the dark blue scheme and logo similar to that of workmate Aerospatiale AS350 BA ZK-HKW4 with Way To Go Heliservices.

Question time # 73 resolved.

The line up is MX2 ZK-MXT; P40 ZK-RMH; Spitfire ZK-SPI; Mustang ZK-TAF and Corsair ZK-COR. At Omaka on April 10th.

A chockie fish is on the way to ZK-CKE and one anonymous fish to the anonymous mailing address of each of the anonymous's. Enjoy.

The Flying Doctor & others. NZCH 06-10-2009

A flying visit to Christchurch this afternoon caught the new Beech 200C Super King Air ZK-FDR2 , c/n BL-31 , about to be eased carefully into its hangar. There is not a lot of room to spare in both height and wingspan. This aircraft arrived in NZCH mid last month as VH-KFN and first flew as ZK-FDR on 01-10-09 and carried out its first official duty today. It is an ex R.F.D.S aircraft from West Australia.
Its hangar mate (below) is this Cessna 441 Conquest II ZK-NFD2 , c.n 441-0141 . I assume it has become the back up machine. The previous back for NFD was the Cessna 421B Golden Eagle ZK-KBF , c/n 421B-0943 , which in now in Nelson.
All three aircraft are registered to Garden City Helicopters and operate as the NZ Flying Doctor Services.
Also noted : parked in an unusual spot towards the end of "29": was the General Dynamics Allison Convair 340/580 ZK-KFJ. It is normally parked on the Air Freight pad north of the main terminal buildings.
Parked and going nowhere in a hurry is the fuselage of Boeing 737-376 ZK-JNO2 which was cancelled from the register on 25-05-09.

Question time # 73

Above pic added 06-10-09 @ 0648am showing all four in a line.
The two answers to date are correct ! So the fish has been won.
What aircraft do we have here then ?
As usual the civil registration is a requirement before consideration is given re the issue of a chocolate fish.
In the event of more than one correct answer I may require you to advise me of the aircraft types for the next two aircraft in the line up !

ZK-TRV in normal stance.

& this is how it normally looks.
As seen at Cromwell on 14-04-2006 (Whanaka airshow weekend).
First registered on 27-09-2005 to T W & C E Watson Family Trust of Whangarei.

OUCH!

Whangarei based Vans RV6A ZK-TRV came to grief at Waikato's seaside airstrip of Raglan on Saturday 03 October following a ground loop. The two occupants were thankfully unhurt in the accident.

Jonathan Rankin was on hand to capture this images, thanks!

Christchurch & Rangiora today [02-10-2009]

Before we look at today, we look at Rangiora on 17-09-2009 to see that the Cessna 152 ZK-KDP was having its fuselage paint work touched up to remove its old US registration of N24988.
A quick visit to Rangiora today found Cessna 152 ZK-KDP slowly coming together.

A visitor on the western grass at Christchurch today was the Piper PA-31 -310C Navajo ZK-JGA , c/n 31-7612102 , of Air Charter Manawatu. This aircraft came on the NZ register on 08-11-1985 for the short lived Goldfields Air Ltd of Alexandra.
The, as yet unregistered, Robinson R44 Raven 11 ZK-HXR2 , c/n 12668 , in Skysales Aviation (NZ) Ltd's hangar.
Above, seen departing Skysales today is the seldom seen Robinson R22Beta ZK-HEQ4 of Rangitata Helicopters Ltd. This is Sam Coulters machine and lives near Woodbury; not too far from Geraldine.
