Sonex ZK-PDB at Nelson today. 12-02-2025

 The Sonex ZK-PDB c/n 898 was noted pounding the circuit at Nelson today.
Construction of this airframe from factory plans started in in Australia in 2006 before it came to New Zealand to be registered here on 15-08-2014, initially with an AeroVee engine, to Paul Blackmore of Pukekohe - later of Tauranga.
Its first flight was by Steve Chilcott on 21-11-2014 from Ardmore.
It was given the name 'Spirit of ANZAC'.
During 2017 it had an engine change to a Rotax 912.
Dean Remnant of Papamoa took it over from 25-07-2022.

It was noted flying from Tauranga to Palmerston North and Motueka on 15-01-2025.
Several short flights from Motueka were carried over the following days until its arrival at Nelson today.
