Bill Mannix was on the prowl around Nelson Airport today 04-01-2025 and offers these two photos.
The Grumman American AA-1B Trainer ZK-DKX c/n AA1B-0198 appeared on the US register in 1973 as N9698L before coming to NZ for assembly by New Zealand Aerospace Industries Ltd at Hamilton as ZK-DKX from 27-09-1973.
I went on line with Air Gisborne Ltd from 03-1201973 and then privately with Linsey Nees at Takaka.
It then settled in Nelson initially with Deanna Heeman from 11-07-2003 followed by Gallett Properties from 29-08-2005.
The Cessna C560 Citation V Ultra ZK-XGO c/n 560-0349 had an early start from Ardmore this morning for Nelson. It then Dashed down to Invercargill then back to Nelson and home to Ardmore.
Both have been mentioned previously in these pages.
I was checking what ZK-XGO was up to and it is no longer on the NZ register. It is now N974AJ, last flown in Florida.
ReplyDeleteYes, XGO was cancelled in early May this year - date uncertain due to the state of the CAA register.
ReplyDeleteAs you say it became N974AJ on 09-05-2025 with AJV Aviation Holding LLC of Venice, Florida.
It flew out of Auckland for Port Villa on 30-04-2025.
Then to Guam and Sendai in Japan and New Chitose in Hokkaido, Norther Japan on the 1st.
Next day, the 2nd, to Anchorage via Adak to Bozeman Yellowstone in Montana.
On the third it was Bozeman to Fort Worth, Texas and into Orlando, Florida.
