Before the Nor'Wester
Above we have the Jodel D.9 ZK-AKR c/n AACA/360 safe on the ground at Rangiora beating the arrival of the Nor'westerly wind today (24-10-2011). Named "Clydevale Phantom" it was built by Charlie Kenny at Balclutha and first registered on 12-02-1987. Current owner is Peter Locke of Hokitika.
I believe there was a Jodel fly-in at Taieri this weekend.
Pober Pixie ZK-PXI c/n MFS1 about to get airborne, with Mike Sheffield, for a beating from the Nor'westerly.
A quick circuit and it was back home again. It was still a Nor'easter on the ground.

Incident for Trislander ZK-LGF
Great Barrier Airlines red Trislander ZK-LGF was involved in a news making incident at the Pauanui Airstrip on the Coromandel Peninsula on the evening of 22 October. The attached news article makes it out to be a scene of chaos and carnage but the photo in the article hardly depicts such a scene.
From its location one can assume it has aborted a takeoff on heading westbound and veered left off the main grass strip.
