If there wasn't much change in light private aircraft from the mid 1970s to the current day, by contrast there was quite a change from the mid 1940s to the mid 1970s:
Bruce Lynch's Messenger and Jim Schmidt's Tiger Moth display the Best of British at the Northern Aviators Club Christmas BBQ at Springhill yesterday. (I must stop taking photos of the Messenger!)
